The following links are to long distance trails websites that may be of interest if you're thinking of taking on a very rewarding and challenging local walking project:
| Dartmoor Way | 108-mile circular route around Dartmoor. |
| John Musgrave Heritage Trail | 35-mile linear route from Maindencombe to Brixham. |
| Long Distance Walkers Association | If you're interested in walking long distances, this is a good place to start! |
| South Hams Way | 100-mile circular walk through four very different types of scenery and terrain. |
| South West Coast Path | 630-mile linear walk along the coast between Minehead (Somerset) and Poole (Doreset). |
| Templer Way | 18-mile linear walk between Haytor and Teignmouth. Walked in this direction it's almost entirely downhill! |
| Two Moors Way | 102-mile linear walk between Ivybridge and Lynmouth. You can make this into a "coast-to-coast" walk by starting/finishing at Wembury instead of Ivybridge, which will add another 15 miles. |
| West Devon Way | 37-mile linear walk linking Okehampton with Plymouth via Tavistock. |
